Chief Scientific Officer: Dr. Kiran Madura, PhD is the Founder and CSO of CellXplore, Inc. Dr. Madura received his PhD from the University of Rochester, NY in 1989, and then conducted Postdoctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and at the California Institute of Technology. He developed his interest and expertise in the field of ubiquitin/proteasome biochemistry during this training. Dr. Madura was appointed to the Faculty of the Department of Biochemistry at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1994 as Assistant Professor, and is presently Professor and Director of the Program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Dr. Madura continues to conduct research in the field, and has generated ~ $7 million in federal funds to pursue these studies.

Board of Directors

James M. Golubieski is President of the Foundation Venture Capital Group LLC, which has supported the growth of CellXplore. Mr. Golubieskiís prior experience includes his position as CFO of Array Medical, Inc., a medical device company that developed a groundbreaking blood test to test platelet function. He was also Chief Operating Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of Glendale National Bank and a member of its board of directors, President of Glendale Investment Corp. and Glendale Mortgage Services, Inc. and Chief Financial Officer of Glendale Bancorp, which was acquired by Mellon Financial. For 10 years prior to Glendale, he had been with KPMG. He is a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Kiran Madura, PhD is the Founder of CellXplore, Inc. Dr. Madura is a Professor of Biochemistry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School-UMDNJ.


Vincent Smeraglia, Esq., is the Director of Patents and Licensing of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Mr. Smeraglia coordinates technology development at the University, including the development of intellectual property arising from faculty research activities, and the commercialization of university-generated technology. He represents the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey on the Board of Directors. Previously, Mr. Smeraglia served as Associate Director of Intellectual Property in the Office of Corporate Liaison and Technology Transfer at Rutgers University. A graduate of Rutgers University and Franklin Pierce Law Center, he has also conducted biomedical research for the Cytogen Corporation.
